The challenge

In a region of Bloemfontein, many children lack access to early learning and a safe environment.

Without intervention, their potential would go unnoticed — and unmet.

Our response

The Tshepo Foundation runs a preschool for 250 children aged 2 to 6, supported by trained educators and trusted by local churches and schools. Parents are engaged to support their children's learning while teachers are trained on a regular basis to deliver quality, play-based education. And as a result the children are thriving — in a space built on care, consistency and community.

Early Childhood Education

Bloemfontein, Free State

Not just a playground. A future.

What began with just a few children wandering the streets has grown into a thriving preschool where 250 young lives now find safety, structure, and access to quality education. At Tshepo, every child is seen, supported, and set on a path toward their full potential.

What's next?

Their vision is to improve and maintain our facility — so that Tshepo can continue to offer quality care and education in a space that reflects the value of every child.

“The most rewarding of all is the children we accommodate at our Pre-School and Care Centre… The fulfilling moment is when I attend the Centre and all the children welcome me with the words: ‘pappa’ — not only for me, but for our staff too.”
